This page explains what happens to your information when you get in touch. It is short, because this website collects very little.

Who is responsible

This site belongs to Yahya Ahmed, an independent GCSE Physics tutor. Enquiries go to [email protected].

What is collected

There is no form on this website. Nothing is submitted to it and nothing is stored on it. Contact happens in one of two ways:

  • WhatsApp — tapping a booking link opens WhatsApp with a message ready to send. Your number and message reach me through WhatsApp, under Meta's own terms.
  • Email — whatever you write, and the address you write from.

That is the whole of it. No account, no newsletter, no tracking.

Why, and on what basis

To reply to you and arrange lessons. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and then performing it. For a question that goes no further, it is my legitimate interest in answering people who contact me.

Parents and under-18s

Booking requires the consent of a parent or carer. All messages go through the parent rather than directly with the student, parents are welcome in any session, and any session can be recorded for you to watch back. Where a recording is made it is for you and the student, and is not shared with anyone else.

Who else handles it

  • Cloudflare hosts this website. Their servers keep standard technical logs, including visitors' IP addresses, for security.
  • Meta handles WhatsApp messages, under their own terms.
  • Google provides the email inbox enquiries arrive in.

Nobody else. Nothing is sold, shared or used for advertising.

Cookies, and the one thing stored on your device

This website sets no cookies, has no analytics and no trackers, and loads nothing from anyone else's servers — the fonts are served from this domain.

If you press the dark mode button, your browser remembers that choice under the name tutor-theme. It holds one word, either light or dark. It never leaves your browser, is never sent to me or to anyone else, and clearing your browsing data removes it. Nothing is stored unless you press that button, which is why you have not been asked to accept anything.

How long anything is kept

Emails and WhatsApp messages are kept while there is a reason to — an ongoing enquiry, or a student I am teaching — and then deleted. Ask me to delete something sooner and I will.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to it being held. Email [email protected] and you will get a reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.
